Child Therapy
Children have unique needs, especially as little ones grow and develop. Our highly-skilled, attuned staff knows that what works for teens and adults does not work for children. We strive to make child therapy a fun, interactive, playful process.
Child therapy is an interactive process via play that helps your child understand and manage challenges that affect their mental health. These challenges can include behavioral issues, traumatic events, school/learning concerns, friendship/socialization problems, and bullying. Your child's therapist offers a safe space and an empathetic ear while providing tools in a fun, playful environment to bring about change in thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Just like adult clients, child clients receive emotional and goal support in their sessions.
During the initial child therapy session, your child's therapist will work together with you as the parent or guardian to engage in a skilled, diagnostic assessment to determine the issues, problems, and concerns you and your child would like to improve and target. In subsequent sessions, your child's unique goals will be consistently monitored and updated as needed, maintaining a view of the desired outcome.
Sessions are playful, targeted, fun, and collaborative. You, your child, and your child's therapist may work together for just a few sessions or as long as several years, depending on your families' unique needs and goals for therapy. We are here for you and your child and want to create positive change and improvements that you can see and notice in your child's daily routine.
